Welcome to the home of the Red Rock Raiders. We are a small, rural District located in Red Rock Arizona, centered one hour from Phoenix and thirty minutes from Tucson, Arizona. You’ll find our town in the lower Santa Cruz River Valley, near Picacho Peak State Park. We serve students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Our faculty and staff value each child as an individual, while helping students continually strive for their personal best. We hope you like our new Web site. It contains a lot of helpful information, such as the school calendar, news and events going on in our school, and how to get in touch with us. We hope this site will answer any questions you may have about our District. If you are unable to find what you are looking for, please stop in and see us. We are here not only to provide a quality education for our students, but also to serve our community. We would love to see you. ![]() Dear Students, Parents, and Families, Welcome to our 2010/2011 school year! Our first day with students was Thursday August 5, 2010. I am not exaggerating when I say that it was the most organized first day back that I have ever experienced! Our students are wonderful, polite, and disciplined. As I visited each classroom I was reminded of the daunting task that we (in education) face daily . . . and that is ensuring that each child finds success and exceeds, both emotionally and intellectually. Thank you, parents and family members, for sending us your most valued assets in your life . . . our children. As an instructional leader, my most important task is to build coherence and healthy adult relationships that focus on improved student achievement. I believe a broad acceptance of the emotional lives of others is crucial for establishing good working relationships—and good relations, in turn, lead to effective knowledge creation. Please remember our Open House on Thursday August 19th, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Your student’s teacher will explain their daily schedule and routines. This is an ideal opportunity to visit your child’s “home away from home.” It is also a great opportunity to meet our Art instructor, Ms. Monteith, our Library Aide Mrs. Heathco, our School Counselor, Pam McMahon, as well as our Special Education teachers and instructional aides. This year our students will continue to participate in Physical Education, Art, and for our 3rd and 4th grade students this quarter, a structured Music program. A special thank you to all of you who have contributed to our classroom supply closet! If you ever have any extra supplies to donate, please drop them off at the office. We appreciate all of your support! Working together, we will make this the best year yet! As always, you are welcome to come to school and visit at any time. For safety reasons, please make sure you come through the office and we can give you a visitor’s pass. If you have any questions or concerns please call! Respectfully,
Lillian Norris, District Administrator |
